January 2, 2025.
Made some progress today toward making some progress.
- Finally made an account on Microsoft Learn today. Woooo!
- Udemy was having a year-end sale, so a few days ago I bought some courses that I hope will be useful for some certifications I’m getting this year:
- CompTIA Network+, Security+, and Project+ — The first two of these won’t be directly useful in my role, but I want to broaden my knowledge base. As they say, “the more you know, the more you know.” The Project+ is something that I hope will help with the next two.
- The Project Management Institute’s Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) — More directly useful; I’m already involved in some small-scale project management and, as they say, “you don’t know what you don’t know.” Hopefully, these will get my foot in the door of a more formal management role.
- Related to my current role, Microsoft’s AZ-900 “Azure Fundamentals”, and DP-900 “Azure Data Fundamentals”. After I get these I’ll move on to PL-900 “Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals” and PL-300 “Power BI Data Analyst Associate” since those also tie in with my current work.
- And, for a next step, a couple of courses relating to the ITIL 4 (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Foundation.
That should keep me busy for a while.
Also, since I’ve got a bit of time while I’m on vacation, I’ve been experimenting a bit with Claude.ai – it’s impressive!
